This year we are contributing towards a scholarship fund for the high school

Youth Mentorship & First Jobs

We intentionally hire a staff primarily made up of high school and college students. For many of these employees, Sweden Creme is their very first job. The Benges have stated that a major part of their mission is to mentor these young workers, teaching them business basics and professional skills in a supportive environment.

Creating a "Safe Space"

The owners have publicly committed to making the shop a "safe space" for the community. In an era of rising costs, they emphasize:  

• Affordability: They aim to keep prices low (like the $2.50 Dixie Burger) specifically because they understand the financial struggles of working families in the area.  
• Inclusivity: The shop is described as a place where people of all different backgrounds and economic levels can sit down and talk, fostering neighborhood unity.

Neighborhood Revitalization

By purchasing and reopening the shop after it had been shuttered for nearly three years, the current owners saved a local landmark from permanent closure. Their investment in the building—including the vibrant pink and light blue paint and neon lights—was designed to bring a sense of joy and "vibrancy" back to the Lindenwald corner.

Local Partnerships

Sweden Creme often works alongside other Lindenwald businesses (like the nearby barbershop Perfectly Blended) to support neighborhood-wide events, such as back-to-school drives or local festivals like Lindenwald Porchfest.
